Auto Surveillance VLAN is a new, industry leading technology that consolidates data and surveillance video transmission through a DGS-1100 switch, thus sparing businesses the expense of dedicated hardware and facilities. The DGS-1100-08P delivers Power-over-Ethernet capabilities, simplifying deployments with IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points, and other powered devices. The DGS-1100-08P complies with the 802.3af standard for PoE, and supports a 64W power budget. Using the product’s management interface, an administrator can control various PoE functions, such as remotely rebooting cameras or access points, from anywhere on the network, including over the Internet.

Standard and Enhanced Software Images
The DGS-3630 Series switches include the Standard Image (SI) software, and for additional functionality, they may be upgraded to Enhanced Image (EI) with a separately ordered license upgrade. The Standard Image provides core SMB and SME functionality, such as L2 switching, entry-level routing, L2 multicast, advanced QoS, Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM), and robust security features. The Enhanced Image includes all the features from the Standard Image, and also supports full L3 routing for Enterprise integration, including OSPF, BGP, VRF-Lite and L3 multicast.

This approach allows I.T. managers to deploy a lower cost L2/L2+ solution today, and upgrade to a L3 solution in the future if networking needs change and a full dynamic routing solution is required.

High Availability and Flexibility
The DGS-3630 Series switches support stacking technology, which combines multiple switches to form a single physical or virtual stack. This increases redundancy over multiple physical units, simplifies management, and provides a single IP address to manage all members in the stack. Up to 9 switches can be stacked using Direct Attach Copper (DAC) or fiber optic cables to make up to 432 Gigabit Ethernet ports available, allowing switching capacity to be increased with demand. The Switch Resource Management (SRM) feature allows the hardware table size to be changed, so that switch functions can be optimized based on the use of the switch. There are 3 modes: IP Mode, LAN Mode, and L2 VPN Mode, which modify the size of the Layer 2 and 3 tables for optimum efficiency.

These switches support multicast and enhanced security features, making them an ideal Gigabit access layer solution. The DGS-3130-30TS/54TS provide 24 or 48 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports. Auto-sensing 10/100 ports
The DES-1005D uses auto-sensing 10/100 Mbps ports, allowing a small workgroup to flexibly connect to Ethernet and Fast Ethernet devices to create an integrated network. These ports detect the network speed and auto-negotiate between 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX, as well as between full and half-duplex, allowing you to get the maximum speed possible for each device connected to your network.

QoS (Quality of Service)
