Standard and Enhanced Images
The DGS-3120 Series is embedded with two different software images - Standard Image (SI) and Enhanced Image (EI). The Standard Image provides sophisticated features for campus, or enterprise. It includes advanced Quality of Service (QoS), traffic shaping, L2 multicasting, and robust security features. The Enhanced Image supports ERPS, Double VLAN (Q-in-Q), Ethernet OAM, Static Route, IMPB, sFlow, IPv6 features which are suitable for the next generation IPv6 networks or triple play applications in Metro Ethernet.

Enhanced Network Reliability
The DGS-3130 Series targets enterprises and metro Ethernet applications, and customers who require a high level of network security and maximum uptime. All the models in the DGS-3130 Series support an external redundant power supply to ensure continued operation. In addition, these switches incorporate essential reliability features to enhance network resilience, including 802.1D Spanning Tree (STP), 802.1w Rapid Spanning Tree (RSTP), and 802.1s Multiple Spanning Tree (MSTP), Loopback Detection (LBD), and Broadcast Storm Control. ITU-T G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) minimizes the recovery time to 50 ms. For load sharing and redundancy backup in a switch cascading/server attachment configuration, the DGS-3130 Series provides dynamic 802.3ad Link Aggregation Port Trunking.

Comprehensive Security Features
The DGS-3130 Series provides users with security features such as Multi-layer and Packet Content Access Control Lists (ACL), Storm Control, and IP-MAC-Port Binding (IMPB) with DHCP Snooping. The IP-MAC-Port Binding feature allows administrators to bind a source IP address with an associated MAC and define the port number to enhance user access control. With the DHCP Snooping feature, the switch automatically learns IP/MAC pairs by snooping DHCP packets and saving them to the IMPB white list.

The DGS-1510 series is the next generation of smart managed witches. It contains 16, 24 or 48 10/100/1000 Mbps ports plus 2 Gigabit SFP ports and 2 10G SFP+ ports, as well as one 24 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE plus 2 Gigabit SFP ports and 2 10G ports smart managed switch. 10G SFP+ Stacking/Uplink Ports

Resilience/Performance Enhancement
Equipped with a complete lineup of L2 features, these switches include IGMP Snooping and Port Mirroring. Network maintenance features include Loopback Detection and Cable Diagnostics. Loopback Detection is used to detect loops created by a specific port and automatically shuts down the affected port. Cable Diagnostics is designed for network administrators to quickly examine the quality of the copper cables and also determine the type of cable error. For Quality of Service (QoS), the switches support 802.1p. This standard is a mechanism that allows real-time traffic classification into 8 priority levels mapped to 4 queues.
Traffic & Security Features
The DES-1100 series supports 802.1Q VLAN and Portbased VLAN, for traffic segregation. The bandwidth control feature allows network administrators to define the throughput levels for each port in order to manage bandwidth. It also provides fine granularity to define the ingress/egress traffic limits down to 512 kbps segments. The Storm Control feature allows detection when broadcast, multicast or unknown unicast traffic hit the definable threshold. The switch will start blocking or discarding packets which would otherwise ‘flood’ the network. The blocked port will be activated only when the broadcast or multicast traffic falls below the defined threshold. Port Mirroring helps administrators facilitate traffic diagnostics or track switch performance and alter when necessary.
